Seth Carpenter is currently the U.S. Chief Economist at UBS. Before joining UBS, he was head of U.S. research at Rokos Capital Management. In the public sector, he served as Acting Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets, U.S. Treasury. Seth spent a good part of his career (1999-2014) at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He began his service with the Federal Reserve as a research economist and rose to the rank of Deputy Director of the Division of Monetary Affairs.
He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Duke University, the College of William and Mary, The George Washington University, and The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Carpenter also served as a Member of the Board of Advisors for the Thomas Jefferson Public Policy Program at the College of William and Mary. He received a B.A. in French and Economics from The College of William and Mary and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.
Constance Hunter serves as the chief economist for KPMG LLP. She has extensive experience analyzing how economic developments and inflection points affect asset prices and businesses. Constance specializes in identifying linkages between developed and emerging markets and paradigm shifts brought about by disruptive technologies and mega trends.
Constance has been the Chief Economist at KPMG LLP since June 2013. She has a strong and diverse financial services background, served as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income at AXA Investment Managers Inc. Prior to joining AXA-IM, she held Chief Economist roles at Aladdin Capital Management LLC, and Galtere Ltd. She also founded Coronat Asset Management and served as its Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer, where she identified macro themes and invested in global equity, credit and FX markets to capitalize on these themes. Ms. Hunter received a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University (where she focused on int’l economics) and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, where she double majored in economics and sociology with a minor in French.
James Sweeney is a Managing Director, the Chief Economist for Credit Suisse, and Regional CIO Americas for the International Wealth Management division. Before that he was the Chief Economist for Global Markets Research and the Head of Global Fixed Income and Economic Research. James is a member of the Americas Pension Investment Committee.
He joined Credit Suisse in 2000, having previously worked as a political speechwriter. He holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a BS magna cum laude from Florida State University. James is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York, and is a John C. Whitehead Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association.
