Happy New Year!

We are excited to kick-off the new year with our annual forecast meeting.

Dana M . Peterson is the Chief Economist and Leader of the Economy, Strategy & Finance Center at The Conference Board®. Previously, she was a North America and Global Economist at Citi and also worked at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C.

Her wide-ranging economics portfolio includes analyzing global themes having direct financial market implications, including monetary policy; inflation; labor markets; fiscal and trade policy; debt; taxation; consumption; and demographics. Her work also examines myriad U.S. themes leveraging granular data.

She is a member of the Board of Directors of NBER and the Global Interdependence Center, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, NYABE, NBEIC, and the Forecasters Club. She holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Wesleyan University and a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Drew Matus is the Chief Market Strategist for MetLife Investment Management (MIM). In this capacity Matus is responsible for formulating MIM’s global outlooks, which ultimately help to shape the company’s portfolio management and business decisions. His team also conducts research on investment themes to advise and inform MIM’s global team of investment professionals.

Before joining MetLife, Matus served as deputy chief U.S. economist at UBS Securities and held senior economist roles at Bank of America–Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers. Earlier in his career, he worked in market research at Moore Capital Management and on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Open Market Desk, assisting in the implementation and analysis of monetary policy operations and conducting Treasury market surveillance on behalf of several regulatory agencies.

He holds an MBA in economics and finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a BA in economics from Colby College.
