HomeAbout NYABE

Who We Are

The NYABE is an association of professionals who have an interest in business economics and are affiliated with businesses and other organizations located within New York City and the surrounding area.

Our Mission

The mission of the NYABE, like that of our parent organization the NABE, is to provide leadership in the use and understanding of economics. During our active session we organize meetings with prominent business economists who speak on a topics of their expertise. Most presentations occur during lunch (see our Events Calendar), facilitating networking with other members, as well as providing a relaxed atmosphere for the question-and-answer period with the invited speaker.

Who Can Join NYABE?

Anyone who has an interest in the field of business economics is invited to join the NYABE. Our membership welcomes professionals at every career stage, from early-career individuals to seasoned experts and retirees.

Can I Join NYABE if I Am a Student?

Absolutely! We welcome and are thrilled to have students as our members. We provide unparalleled in-person networking opportunities during our events, and encourage both students and early career professionals to engage in discussions with speakers and fellow NYABE members. Students can join at a special student rate.

What are the Benefits of Joining NYABE?

Discount on Regular Luncheon Meetings: Members get ~30% discount on regular luncheon meetings. If you attend 3 meetings during a year, you'll more than recoup your annual membership fee.

Members Only Workshops: NYABE occasionally organizes informal workshops for NYABE members only. These events are directed to special interests. Workshops have ranged from panel discussions related to talking to the press to breakfasts with new authors of books in the field of business economics.
